JELLYFISH - THE UNFORESEEN (ÁGUA VIVA - O IMPREVISTO)
An audio piece and an accordion-fold structure made of four acrylic panels—bearing traces of ink left over from the creation of a monotype notebook—comprise the work ÁGUA VIVA – O IMPREVISTO. I understand this act of wandering the world as a way of inhabiting the present, much like Clarice Lispector in ÁGUA VIVA. I respond to the narrator by assuming the role of the “you”; I seek to relinquish control to make room for an encounter with place and with the other, thereby allowing the “I” to dissolve and reconstitute itself.
