ON THE WAY (NO CAMINHO)
Around 1570, a character inspired by Gerson in Dürer's engraving sets out on a journey. He travels on foot from Antwerp to Constantinople, using maps created by Ortelius to guide his way. He begins his walk in the middle of autumn and reaches his destination at the beginning of spring. Along the way, he visits places that I, too, have known—places that left a deep impression on me. Might the passage of time from one autumn to one spring be felt in the same way as the years separating his journey through those places from my own?
