LINGERING WITH A PATH OUTLINED
Humpback whales are highly migratory animals, traveling vast distances each year to complete their life cycle. The population that breeds along the Brazilian coast migrates annually to Antarctic waters to feed during the summer, returning to our shores in winter and spring to mate, give birth, and nurse their calves—a round trip of nearly 9,000 km.
Whales captivate me because they symbolize wisdom, strength, deep family bonds, harmony, and the balance of the natural world. These majestic creatures have fascinated humans for centuries. Their migratory journey can be understood as a metaphor for the journey of the soul in search of purpose and belonging. Their songs remind us of the importance of communication and the power of the voice.
Their graceful movements, wandering and flowing with the ocean currents, are guided by instinct.
Their breaches burst through the water in a dance of joy, freedom, and delight, while the powerful splashes reveal both their strength and their capacity to communicate.
The many shades of blue that surround their habitat continue to enchant my eyes.
