WHAT IS NOT READ (O QUE NÃO SE LÊ)
*O que não se lê* (What Is Not Read) was developed during the M.A.L.A. 2026 residency, the theme of which—*Vagar Mundo* (Wandering the World)—is interpreted not as displacement but as staying put: remaining where contact does not resolve. Constructed from wood, sandpaper, and cold porcelain, the book-object offers neither pages nor a narrative. Upon opening, it brings two surfaces into confrontation: the porcelain, which yields, tears, and reveals; and the sandpaper, which remains continuous and resistant. Between them, a field of friction is established, wherein one material transforms while the other resists. Thus, the book is not read; it is experienced as contact, wear, and tension.
