Ivanir Cozeniosque
Mini Bio
Ivanir Cozeniosque is a visual artist working across sculpture, woodcut printmaking, and photography. She graduated from FAU/USP (1976), earned her master's and doctoral degrees from FFLCH and ECA/USP, and received her Livre Docência (Habilitation) from Unicamp in 2021. A retired professor at Unicamp, she taught in the Department of Visual Arts at the Institute of Arts and in the Graduate Program in Visual Poetics. Her research focuses on three-dimensionality and related poetic practices. Her solo exhibitions include Transformação, at Centro Cultural São Paulo; Luzes/Encavo and Onde EU habito?, at Casa da Gravura; and GAIA — Resíduos: água e tempo, at the Institute of Arts at Unicamp. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Brazil (Biblioteca Mário de Andrade and BORA/Unicamp) and internationally, including at Galeria Skultura in Washington, as well as in Serbia and India. She has been part of M.A.L.A. in 2025 and 2026, exhibiting in Paris and Buenos Aires.
WHY DOES THE DIVERSITY OF MATTER BECOME WONDER AND AMAZEMENT? (POR QUE A DIVERSIDADE DA MATÉRIA SE TRADUZ EM ESPANTO E ENCANTO?)
To wander the world is to experience and witness nature with one's own eyes in different places across the Earth. The title of this artist's book emerged from a long-held and deeply personal passion. The work consists of printed photographs whose colors evoke the four seasons. Arranged in a concertina structure through sequential Dragon Scale images, they create unexpected forms and spaces, approaching the qualities of a sculptural book-object.
