The book *Desamarras* is part of a research project on color in lithography—intersecting with the artist's book format—that the artist has been developing since 2023 in the printmaking workshops at EXTECAMP (Unicamp’s Extension School). The book consists of five color lithographs—featuring shades of lilac, blue, and brown—printed on white Canson Edition paper (220 g/m²), with a cover made of Canson Montval paper (300 g/m²). This work originated from a series of drawings created two years prior, employing various techniques such as India ink and washes, collage, monotype, crayon, and dry pastel. These initial sketches sought to give form to imaginative impulses regarding internal landscapes—evoking the rigging and sails of ships—in an attempt to address emotional themes of loss and separation. This was the personal interpretation the artist chose to explore the "vaga mundo" (wandering world) theme of the M.A.L.A. 2026 Residency. The book’s binding structure features two independent sections, stitched separately and joined by a shared cover; positioned side-by-side, they allow for a varied reading experience across the different pages and surfaces, where images filled with dark, disjointed lines shift out of alignment as the reader turns the pages.
