IMMORTELLE
In the Serra do Espinhaço, in the heart of Chapada Diamantina (in the state of Bahia, Brazil), diamond mines have built villages under the rule of colonels and their "jagunços" (private armed guards). The exploitation of the land has also been a violation of women's bodies and destinies. Between ghost towns, silences, and "caatingas" (Brazil's semi-arid biome which, alongside the "cerrado", forms the Brazilian "sertão"), beats the heart of a story of struggle and resistance.
