Visual artist with degrees in Education, Interior Design and Photography. Since 2004, she has dedicated herself exclusively to photography, with her main interests being architecture, urbanism, nature, human behavior and currently the theme of femininity and its developments. Since 2010, she has been represented by Galeria Ricardo Fernandes, based in Saint-Ouen, Paris, France. In 2015, her series Universo Curvo became part of the BNF (Bibliothèque Nationale de France) collection. In 2018, it was the turn of the video art: Cidade Oculta (Hidden City) (Project Noir) to join the MEP (Maison Européenne de la Photographie) collection.
For the 2024 MALA, Lúcia brought a reflection on the transience of life, confronting the traces left by the sea. The objective is to encourage the viewer to analyze the subject on their own, but encouraging them to see beauty in impermanence.
The sea water, in its eternal ebb and flow, leaves brief traces on the sand.
Traces of a dance, in which each wave draws a light sigh, quickly erased by the next embrace of the ocean.
The sand holds these secrets for an instant, fleeting memories of an encounter with the sea.
