Liliana Pardini

Liliana Pardini has a postgraduate degree in Children's Books and Writing Gestures from Casa Tombada. She participated in the extension course in Artist's Books with Edith Derdyk. Author of 35 artist's books, she published “É Hoje!” (Edições Barbatana, 2020) and “Bagagem” (Editora Pó de Estrelas, 2023). Highlights include works such as “Ariadne”, winner of the Experimental Artist's Books Festival in Video (2020), and “A Odisseia de Helena”, shown at the “Livros Multiformes” exhibition at
Cesar Lattes Central Library, Unicamp (2022).

Her works have been exhibited internationally, including participation in exhibitions in Sicily, Naples and São Paulo, such as the VI Biennale del Libro d'Artista and the “Travessia” exhibition organized by Dobras de Si. In addition, she has been part of literary events such as the VIII FOLIO – International Literary Festival of Óbidos in Portugal (2023). Liliana also contributed works to the Writing Gestures Occupation at Casa das Caldeiras, São Paulo (2023), highlighting “Dentro” and “A Cicatriz da Mão Direita”.

Estela Vilela

Estela Vilela is a bookbinder, educator and book artist, with a degree in Psychology from PUCSP and in Literature from USP-SP. Her experience in bookbinding includes the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios de São Paulo, training courses at ABER - Brazilian Association of Bookbinding and Restoration and international courses, subsequently having her work exhibited in several international forums and exhibitions.

During her presidency at ABER (2013-2019), she promoted book culture, promoting the International Artistic Bookbinding Competition in São Paulo and the Casa do Papel at FLIP in Paraty for two consecutive years, among other initiatives. Her educational projects emphasize graphic experimentation, research and production of artist's books. Currently, in addition to co-creating and guiding the online course “Dobras de Si”, she teaches in-person courses, offers consultancy in her studio in São Paulo and collaborates with cultural institutions such as Sesc and Itaú Cultural.

Monique Allain

Monique Allain (1958), an artist, educator and researcher born in São Paulo, moved to New York in 2018 and settled in North Salem NY in 2020. Before her foray into the arts, she worked as an environmental consultant at the “Terra Capital Fund”, a pioneer in raising funds for biodiversity preservation projects. Co-founder of the Cooperativa de Artistas Visuais do Brasil (2003-2006), her goal was to expand the role of visual artists in cultural decisions and in the promotion of art.

At ABER – Brazilian Association of Bookbinding and Restoration, she led the NÚCLEO DE ARTE, creating programs for the study and production of artist’s books (2013-2018). Curating exhibitions in Brazil, Paris and the USA, Monique investigates individual and collective identity, exploring its relationship with space, time and otherness. Her works propose immersive experiences of self-connection,
connection with the environment and interpersonal dialogues.

Chica Boyriven

Chica Boyriven has a rich and multicultural background, having lived between continents and immersed herself in two distinct cultures since her birth in São Paulo in 1961, to French parents. Her artistic journey began shortly after graduating from high school, when she moved to Paris and enrolled in the renowned School of Fine Arts. There, she had the opportunity to hone her drawing talent in the studio of Pierre Alechinsky, a prominent artist associated with the
COBRA movement (Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam). The COBRA movement, known for its exaltation of primitive culture and unconventional art, including expressions of prehistoric and medieval art, became a fundamental source of inspiration for Chica Boyriven. For a decade, she devoted herself to the study and practice of various engraving techniques in the “Arts du Livre” studio, collaborating with the artist Mireille Baltar.

In addition, she completed her education by studying bookbinding for two years at the École Municipal des Métiers de l'Artisanat in Paris. Throughout her career, Chica has held several solo and group exhibitions,
exhibiting his works in galleries and cultural spaces in Brazil, France and Germany.
