Opening of the exhibition Travessia, November 29, at the Mário de Andrade Library

After an inspiring season in France — where the artist books by M.A.L.A’s residents were exhibited at the Enseigne des Oudin and the Médiathèque Marguerite Duras — the works return to Brazil for a very special exhibition at the Mário de Andrade Library, in São Paulo.

Entitled Travessia (“Crossing”), the exhibition brings together artist books created by the 32 residents of 2025, as well as works by French artists kindly offered to take part in this dialogue between cultures and ways of making. The show proposes a journey across territories, languages, and sensibilities, reaffirming M.A.L.A’s vocation as a wandering home for artist books.

The 2025 M.A.L.A Catalogue, which brings together the works created during this edition of the residency, will be launched in February 2026 at a special event held during the exhibition. The publication features both Brazilian and French works, celebrating the exchanges and discoveries that shaped this journey.
